It’s not a stretch to say that without Peter Lehmann, the Barossa Valley would likely have been irreparably damaged. Starting his own winery in 1979, he pledged to help the desperate growers with the glut of grapes then afflicting the Barossa. Many of them were farmers of Silesian descent who regarded their old vines as part of their patrimony, and without this deal, it is widely thought that the Barossa would have lost a huge chunk of its old vines. Matured in French oak hogsheads for 10 months, this exclusive Shiraz has bright and fresh raspberry flavours, and rich flavours of satsuma, plum and dark cherries. Perfect for a meaty casserole.
