Unusually for Australia, this Syrah (rather than Shiraz) is created in the Northern Rhone style. The Wave Crest wines are grown and made at one of Australia’s largest cool climate sites. Situated just five kilometres from the Southern Ocean, the maritime climate influences everything about the wine. Cold, wet winters, followed by mild summers are perfect for developing beautifully balanced, slow ripening reds. This juicy Syrah spends eighteen months in French oak, softening the wine without creating over dry tannins. It’s packed full of dark berry fruits and savoury notes of cedar with a distinctive white pepper complexity. Perfect for a lamb rack or pair with your favourite cheeses.
