With the help of top international winemakers, including influences from Tuscany’s renowned Ornellaia, Capaia has quickly risen to produce some of the best wines in South Africa. The estate is currently managed by second-generation Mariella Baroness von Essen and her son Nick, adhering strictly to the château principle of only using estate grown grapes and focusing on quality over quantity production. Here’s how it tastes: This rosé uses Shiraz, Petit Verdot and a touch of Sauvignon Blanc giving it a refreshing red fruit flavour, with a light acidity. Ideal for pairing with meatier fish dishes.
