Created exclusively for us, this limited edition Chardonnay from Marlborough is unusual as Tony Bish typically works with Hawkes Bay fruit. Following the extreme flooding in the Bay many of the region’s vines were badly damaged, or washed away, so Bish looked to trusted suppliers in other regions, and we love the result. Known for exclusively producing Chardonnay, this wine is a testament to his dedication and expertise. Made from grapes grown in the Marlborough region, known for its cool climate and diverse soils, including gravelly loam and clay. The grapes are meticulously harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and flavour concentration. Fermentation occurs in a mix of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, allowing for a balance of fresh fruit character and subtle oak influence. This wine is full bodied with notes of sweet citrus, white jasmine, vanilla and guava. It’s well balanced with fine silky tannins, making it a wonderful pairing for seafood, shellfish or salads with a bit of bite like tabbouleh.
