Description
In 1991, Rioja icons La Rioja Alta branched south into the barren plateau of Ribera del Duero. After extensive analysis they settled on a plot in Anguix, near Burgos – an area Tim Atkin MW has long sung the praises of. This wine is testament to their skill – and the importance they place on tradition. Grapes are handpicked, ageing is slow and meticulous and the wine is moved between barrels by candlelight. Awarded Silver at the Decanter wine awards, this has flavours of bramble fruit, blueberry jam, mocha and spice. It’s exceptionally smooth– and delicious with roast lamb or cheese.
