Boumvine ‘The White’ 2023, Swartland

Description

For nearly 30 years, the Gabb family have been producing fantastic wines in South Africa's Western Cape. Their vineyards include plots in Swartland, a region located north of Cape Town, where a hot, dry climate and low levels of rainfall lead to grapes with superbly concentrated flavours. This rich white blend is predominantly made with old-vine Chenin Blanc, plus touches of Marsanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier. It's left unoaked to preserve its fresh, fruity aromas, and spends two months on its lees for a lush, fuller texture. Refreshing and floral, it has notes of apple, citrus and stone fruits, plus a subtly honeyed, nutty character that makes it a dream with chicken or pork.
