Description

Vinehugger offers high-quality, sustainable wine that combines drinkability with affordable prices, with the aim to bring organic wine to more people. Sourcing only organically certified grapes from farmers across the Western Cape in South Africa, the brand is dedicated to both environmental care and sustainable farming methods. Winemaker Barbara Melck, originally from Stellenbosch, brings extensive international experience to her role at Reyneke, where she has been leading winemaking since 2021. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed, fermented spontaneously, and aged on the lees for four months to enhance complexity. Most of it is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, with a portion in concrete eggs for added character. Expect notes of yellow peaches, tropical pineapple, golden apples, crunchy pears and lemon drops. Will pair deliciously with spicy curry and seafood pasta.
