This is masterful Pinot Noir – perfected by the Sonoma Coast's cooling climate. The region is influenced by cool marine air from the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. On summer mornings, a layer of fog hovers over the vineyards, clearing as the day warms. Any remaining fog is then fully cleared in the afternoon by the summertime winds that come rushing through the Petaluma Gap. The cooler late afternoon temperature protects the acidity in the grapes, while strong winds slow down photosynthesis, resulting in riper flavours and lower sugar levels. The wind also results in smaller berries with thicker skins, giving the wines a unique savoury and spicy character. Enjoy intense aromas of strawberry and cherry with wet rock characteristics. Medium-bodied, followed by a lively finish. Its fruit-forward nature pairs well with lightly spiced dishes such as Asian cuisine, crispy duck, grilled poultry or braised lamb.
