Corton-Charlemagne is a prestigious Grand Cru for white wines, produced across the Montagne de Corton hill in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune subregion. The name pays homage to Emperor Charlemagne, who is said to have initiated the planting of white grape varieties in this beautiful region. The Girard family, one of Savigny-Lès-Beaune's oldest winemaking families, has been crafting wine since 1529. Today, Jean-Jacques and his son Vincent blend modern and traditional techniques, creating wines of remarkable purity and elegance.
