Party-season hair accessories are easier to find when clips are not trapped beneath a pile of headbands. Empty the drawer first and sort by shape. Choose storage around the pieces you already wear rather than buying another accessory bundle to fill an organiser.

Measure clips while closed

Check the height and width of your largest claw clips, including projecting teeth. Shallow drawers can catch them when closing. Compare internal compartment dimensions rather than the organiser's outside width, and leave room to lift each piece out.

Separate flexible and rigid pieces

Scrunchies and rigid headbands need different space. Look for a layout that avoids forcing headbands into a narrow box or tangling small clips together. A simple divided tray may be more useful than a decorative stand with limited usable capacity.

Check cleaning and materials
