Description
While Margaret River is now an established name on the Aussie winemaking map, it wasn’t so back in 1974. Capel Vale were the very first to plant vines in the area. Still family-owned and managed, they’re now known for producing wines that define the regional profile, with a focus on balance, complexity and elegant fruit. This classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that shows cool-climate Western Australia has just as much to celebrate as old-world regions like Bordeaux. The two grapes are vinified and aged separately in oak for just under a year before blending, resulting in a medium-weight wine rich in flavours of blackcurrant, spice, plum and cedar.
