Founded in 1995 by Danilo Solustri, Casal Farneto is on a mission to show off the extraordinary versatility and complexity of the Verdicchio grape. Each year they make small-batch fermentations using experimental methods in the hope of discovering exciting new expressions. Danilo’s range currently contains 11 different wines from the grape, including Solustro. Thriving in its eponymous central Italian DOCs set between the Apennines and the Adriatic, Verdicchio has a racy acidity that makes it a brilliant partner for food. This example has aromas of hawthorn, apple, citrus and almond. Try it with full-flavoured pasta dishes.
