Castel Faglia Franciacorta DOCG Grand Brut

Description

Founded in 1989, Castel Faglia is one of the oldest wineries in Franciacorta. It’s named after the castle on the highest hill of the region, and it’s entirely run by family. Most of Castel Faglia’s vineyards are situated in the highest hills of Franciacorta, where the best soils for producing Franciacorta wine are found – and the results show in this bottling. Winemaker Sandro Cavicchioli has been making Franciacorta for over 30 years, so it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about making world class sparkling wine. Made in the traditional method, the wine is first aged in steel tanks for a short period of time, before it’s aged in the bottle for a minimum of two years before disgorgement.
