Description
With a history stretching back almost 1, 000 years, Château de Pizay is one of the largest winemaking estates in Beaujolais. The famously structured reds of the Morgon sub-region are a particular speciality of theirs – as you’ll see when you try this. It hails from a vineyard plot that was first planted in 1915, by women working the land during World War I. Such old vines produce grapes with superbly concentrated flavours, and the quality shines through in every sip. You’ll find it velvety and complex with intense red-fruit flavours, plus notes of chocolate and spice that’ll pair beautifully with a rich beef stew or aubergine-based dishes.
