Set in the shadow of Te Mata Peak in New Zealand since 1998, award-winning Craggy Range strives to achieve world-class quality with every vintage. Our New Zealand buyer, Matt Fowkes, considers them one of New Zealand’s very best producers. So you can expect great things from this elegant Pinot. It hails from the Te Muna Road vineyard in Martinborough, where warm summers and mineral-rich soils make for powerful and structured wines. This 2017 vintage is a case in point, earning an outstanding 96 points from Decanter. 10 months of oak ageing gives it a luxuriously silky texture and aromatic complexity, alongside notes of rose, plum, cherry and wood spice. Its fruity flavours and fine tannins make it fantastically food-friendly – we recommend pairing it with duck, or cellaring for up to five years.
