Description

The Marlborough region of New Zealand is most famous for Sauvignon Blanc, but as this wine shows, Pinot Gris can do just as well. Forrest Wines grow theirs on two distinctly different sites, the gravel-rich Wairau River Valley and the stone and clay Wairau River north bank. The former brings citrus and apple flavours to the mix, and the latter exotic notes of orange blossom, peach and honeysuckle. Whether you prefer poultry, pork or seafood, Pinot Gris is a first-rate food match – and none more so than this example. Try it with the Alsatian classic Coq au Riesling.
