Ridge Vineyards have long been renowned as one of the world’s most important wineries. Receiving critical acclaim for decades, their reputation for creating incredible wines reached the global stage after the famous Judgement of Paris tasting of 1976. It was at this competition between French and American wines that the world truly saw the quality emerging from the New World. Ridge were some of the first to champion old-vine Zinfandel, making it since 1964. This wine contains grapes sourced primarily from vineyards in Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma Valley, and Russian River Valley. Unlike Ridge’s single-vineyard wines, which reflect the distinctive character of each site, Three Valleys represents the masterful blending of vineyards at its finest. Zinfandel determines the wine’s varietal character; old-vine Carignan contributes bright fruit and acidity; Petite Sirah adds spice, depth of colour, and firm tannins. And all this contributes to an incredible representation of the best of Californian wine.
