Pioneers in the Marlborough region, second-generation family winery Saint Clair started with just two hectares of vineyard in 1978. But a key mix of great people, hard work and passion have allowed them to go from strength to strength and now the mid-sized operation is one of the key names in the region. Their Albariño comes from Lower Dashwood in the Awatere Valley, where a maritime climate, flat terrain and gravel soils create favourable conditions for the Iberian grape to gradually reach peak ripeness. Aromas of apple blossom and mandarin mingle with hints of lemon, lime and white pepper. Try it with ceviche or sashimi.
