Elena Brooks has always been immersed in the wine world. Born and raised in Bulgaria, she assisted her mother at the vineyard where she worked, and by the time she was 16 she was already crafting her own batches of Chardonnay. Marriage brought her to settle in Mc Laren Vale, where she runs her independent brands, Dandelion Vineyards and Sister’s Run. Grenache may have its roots in France, but Australia has confidently made the grape its own. The fruit for this wine was picked at the optimum point between juiciness and fresh acidity, then matured in two- and three-year-old puncheons to preserve its vibrancy. Crack it open to aromas of mulberry and blackberry preserves, boiled sweets, spice and thyme.
