Te Mata ‘Bullnose’ Syrah 2021/22, Hawke’s Bay

Description

Family-owned since it was founded back in 1896, Te Mata Estate is among the pioneers of New Zealand’s Hawke's Bay region. All wines are made exclusively from their own vineyards, where a maritime climate with low rainfall and a variety of soil types and slopes create ideal conditions for growing diverse grapes. The Syrah for this wine was hand-harvested from three vineyards – including Bullnose, the plot which gives the bottle its name – and has been aged in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques. Expect floral and spice aromas, and rich flavours of plum, raspberry and blackberry to compliment a velvety texture. Pair it with charcuterie, roast pork or spiced dishes.
