Whiskey-making has been in the Teeling family since 1782. Today, Jack and Stephen Teeling – the latest generation – are making their own innovative mark on the distilling scene. This small-batch whiskey challenges the convention of what an Irish blend can be, and the result is seriously complex and flavourful. Hand-selected casks of grain and malt whiskies are aged first in ex-Bourbon barrels, then blended and matured in Central American rum casks for a further 12 months. They don’t use chill-filtration, so the liquid retains as much of its body, character and richness as possible. It’s smooth and sweet with notes of vanilla, spice, dried fruits, orange blossom, cut grass and caramel. Enjoy it neat or in an Irish coffee as an after-dinner treat.
