Val do Salnés is the oldest subregion of Rías Baxias, right on the Galician coast. It’s the coolest and wettest part of the region, which allows for slow grape maturation, preserving their natural aromas and flavours. The much respected Villarei winery focuses on maintaining this purity and expression, crafting wines that are particularly fresh. This bottling is aged on its lees, giving the wine more complexity. It’s rich and more textured than a typical Albariño, with plenty of classic citrus, grapefruit and mineral flavours. Make like the Galicians and enjoy it with fresh fish or seafood.
