ABOUT THE WINE. The Cantemerle estate boasts an illustrious history dating back to 1147, with the name “Canta Merla” (blackbird's song) reflecting its rich heritage. The estate first mentioned viticulture in 1354, when Ponset de Cantemerle paid a debt with a tonneau of clairet. As part of the official 1855 classification, the estate has secured its reputation as one of the finest in the Haut-Médoc. Situated near Bordeaux on the southern tip of the Médoc peninsula, Cantemerle produces wines celebrated for their balance, complexity, and elegance.
