Description
ABOUT THE WINE. Located west of the village of Cantenac within the prestigious Margaux appellation, this renowned 2ème Cru Classé estate has flourished under the guidance of Henri Lurton since the 1990s. With 75 hectares of vines, the estate’s layout has remained largely unchanged since the 1855 Classification, preserving its heritage. The estate's commitment to sustainability is evident—currently 25% organic with ambitious plans for full organic conversion, plus 12 hectares devoted to pioneering biodynamic farming experiments.. TASTING NOTES. The 2019 vintage delivers vibrant and complex layers of red fruit, enriched with notes of liquorice, menthol, and hints of caramel. This wine offers a beautifully balanced profile, with a refined tannic structure and a lingering finish marked by subtle hints of chocolate.. FOOD PAIRING. Ideal for gourmet burgers and rich, fatty meat dishes, which complement the red-fruit intensity and velvety tannins of this refined Margaux.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. This vintage is approachable now but will continue to evolve beautifully. Best enjoyed from 2024 to 2029 for optimal complexity.
