ABOUT THE WINE. For as far back as they can trace their history, the Ellevin family has always been making wine. In 1975, Jean-Pierre Ellevin and his wife started to develop the family domaine; in 2003, their son Alexandre joined them. The estate covers 16 hectares, planted exclusively with Chardonnay.. TASTING NOTES. Straw yellow in colour. The nose is particularly expressive with fine aromas of citrus, pea, and zest. The mouth is delicate with a superb buttery structure. The wine is smooth and rounded, with bright minerality and a long, supple finish.. FOOD PAIRING. Ideal with meaty fish like salmon or monkfish, juicy poultry, breaded veal, or creamy cheeses like Roquefort.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. A delightful 1er Cru, a little softer than the Vosgros from this producer.
