Description
ABOUT THE WINEThe Capanna farm, owned by the Cencioni family since 1957, is situated in the Montosoli area, to the north of Montalcino. It was founded by Giuseppe Cencioni and his sons, Benito and Franco, and was one of the first estates to form part of the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The family still manages both viticulture and winemaking on the estate. Their approach is very classic, with structured, powerful reds and intense, complex whites in a traditional, sweet style.TASTING NOTESBright, floral aromas, full of ripe fruit. Apricot, raisin and white peach characterise the subtly off-dry, beautifully balanced palate. Elegant and complex, an excellent example of the style.FOOD PAIRINGGood with soft cheese or delicate pastries; nothing too sweet, as the wine should always be sweeter than the dish.FRIARWOOD SAYSAn unusual wine, given the fame of, and demand for, the red Brunello wines from this region; white vineyards are often replanted to Sangiovese, making wines like this increasingly rare, especially on export markets like the UK..
