ABOUT THE WINE. Stephane Vedeau took over the running of J. Boutin from his mother. The vines have to see Rhone to make good wines the local elders used to say, believing that the best terroirs are always close to the river where the vines survive on granite steep slopes. J. Boutin have an excellent location, one of the highest vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage, close to the river. Thanks to the granite soil and the altitude their wines develop a deeper complexity. There is no sulphite added and no clarification or filtration allowing the terroir to be fully expressed.. TASTING NOTES. An aromatic and expressive nose, revealing aromas of juicy pear, white peach and floral touches of lime blossom. There are also subtle notes of dried fruit and vanilla. On the palate, this Crozes-Hermitage is creamy and structured, with a balanced acidity that brings liveliness. Ripe fruit flavors harmonize with hints of hazelnut and slight minerality, providing a long, elegant finish.. FOOD PAIRING. Ideal with grilled fish, seafood or asparagus risotto. Also goes well with creamy dishes like creamed chicken or soft cheeses. Discover all the wines from J. Boutin and Domaines Du Mont
