Dartmoor Distillery Bordeaux Cask Matured Whisky is created in their (unconventional) 1,400 litre Cognac still, with legendary master distiller Frank McHardy (ex Springbank, Bushmills) in charge.. Notes of raspberry and blackcurrant over a core of malty vanilla and a whiff of white pepper. Develops into demerara sugar, cinnamon and toasted nuts. An accomplished whisky with plenty of complexity.. The distillery has easy access to high-quality barley and local spring water from a 200-foot deep borehole on the moor. The barley is sourced from nearby Preston Farm, and malted at the famous Warminster Maltings before being produced into a 9% ABV wash at Dartmoor Brewery pre-distillation.
