Description
The sun-kissed region of Puglia is the perfect setting for growing Primitivo grapes. It was first brought to Manduria, on the heel of Italy’s boot, back in 1881 by Countess Sabini di Altamura as part of her dowry. And now the region is renowned for its deep, velvety wines. This organic expression has fantastic intensity, and since it hasn’t had any oak ageing, it’s all about juicy fruit flavour. Expect aromas of blackberry, cherry and violet and a long, smooth finish. Try it with braised meats or hard cheeses.
