Rhodochrosite, Round Cabochon 4mm

Description

Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral, easily identifiable by its alternating rose pink and white toned banding. The pattern of these soft bands, running through translucent and transparent sections, gives the stone a delicate, marbled appearance. Rhodochrosite has generally been known as the stone of compassion, symbolising selfless love and is excellent for soothing and comforting the heart and soul. This round rhodochrosite cabochon measures 4mm. Rhodochrosite has a hardness of 3.5 – 4 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 3.5 – 3.7. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each stone is unique so colours, patterns and banding will vary and slight natural inclusions are sometimes faintly visible. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place rhodochrosite stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Rhodochrosite can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing rhodochrosite to prolonged periods of heat and light. A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these rhodochrosite are sold individually.
