Tiger`s-eye, Oval Cabochon 20x15mm

Tiger`s Eye is a variety of Chalcedony from the Quartz family, easily identifiable by its warm yellow gold to brown colour tones and silky lustre. With alternating golden honey and brown bands, tiger`s eye has a beautiful chatoyancy with the luminescent bands giving the stone a unique striped appearance. Tiger`s Eye has generally been known as the stone of protection, bringing good luck to the wearer, encouraging clear thinking and boosting courage. This oval tiger`s eye cabochon measures 20mm x 15mm. Tiger`s Eye has a hardness of 6.5 – 7 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.64 – 2.71. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each stone is unique so colours and patterns will vary and natural inclusions are visible. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place tiger`s eye stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Tiger`s Eye can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix and an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing tiger`s eye to prolonged periods of heat and light A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these tiger`s eye stones are sold individually.
