Solid Wood With A Smooth Contemporary Finish The chest coffee table has a sleek, smooth finish. The coffee table is made from pine, which is stained in our dark ebony finish, and solid oak angled legs detailing on each corner. Each timber is hand-sanded to a smooth finish, creating a contemporary and tactile finish to the solid wood, while still leaving plenty of natural features. Please note: Placing your item near a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may exaggerate these natural features. Ebony Stain & Clear Protective Oil Our chest coffee table has two finishes on it, with each wood type finished with a slightly different technique. All the finishes are hand applied as part of the handcrafting process. The dark ebony stain is applied to the pine timbers, creating a beautifully rich and dark colour on the wood. The coffee table is then finished with a clear protective oil, that is applied to both the ebony stained timbers as well as the oak timbers. This leaves the chest coffee table with a matte finish. When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Now you just need to decide where it's going in your living room! Care & Clean As with all natural wood furniture we would strongly recommend that you protect our furniture from heat and moisture, with the use of coasters, heat-protective mats, and other precautionary measures. Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. Watch our 30second video to find out more. Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place. As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces. If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.
