Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the Chacayes region and surrounded by the suggestive landscapes typical of the Mendoza wine region, the Alpasion winery was founded by a group of friends with a great passion for wine. Today the company, which extends over 85 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards, produces high-quality wines based on Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah. The estate is also a wine tourism destination, with a lodge and restaurant. The Cabernet Franc grapes for this wine are selected and harvested manually from 6-year-old vines located 1,200 meters above sea level in the Los Chacayes, Tunuyan area. After fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a period of maceration, the wine is then aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. The wine has a brilliant ruby-red color with a garnet edge. The aromatic profile is intense and complex, with notes of ripe red fruit, spices, coffee, and licorice. On the palate, it is dry and medium-bodied. The acidity is well balanced, and the tannins moderate. It is an expressive wine that shows the typicality of the grape variety and is distinguished by a good finish with toasted notes. Perfect with game birds and roast pork.
