Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 3 years. No need to decant. Located in the prestigious Marlborough region, in the north of the South Island, Rimapere is the New Zealand project of the Rothschild family. Here the richness of the terroir in the heart of a very preserved nature, the temperate maritime climate, and the long hours of sunshine guarantee ideal conditions for the cultivation of the vine. The vineyard, acquired in 2012, covers about 24 hectares, in an area nicknamed the “Golden Mile”, which lends itself wonderfully to the production of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The name Rimapere, meaning ‘five arrows' in Maori, is an homage to the local culture and to the emblem of the Rothschild family. Edmond de Rothschild Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc is a wine with a bright and lively color, with golden tones. The aromatic profile is fresh and vibrant with citrus notes, especially lime and ripe lemon, followed by white flowers, almonds, and flint. On the palate, this Sauvignon Blanc has a round, mineral structure with very well-integrated acidity. The citrus notes felt on the nose return to the mouth, accompanied by aromas of passion fruit. The finish is mineral, persistent, and very elegant. The wine is perfect as an aperitif but also goes very well with vegetarian dishes and white fish.
