Cooper King New Make Malt Spirit is basically a whisky before it is aged in wood, and officially becomes whisky (after 3 years and a day!). It is simply one of the best ways to experience the quality of a young spirit prior to ageing. Here are two ways you can enjoy this unusual spirit:. 1). Compare it to the aged versions… i.e. the whiskies from the distillery.. What might you smell and taste in the New Make?. Sweet barley and fruit aromas, toffee pennies and a sumptuous maltiness in the mouth, with a long and rich finish.. 2). Use it in cocktails, for example instead of rum, in a Daiquiri:.
