Description
As the largest wine region in South Africa, the Western Cape shows astounding diversity – take this blend of 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon as the perfect example. It’s made in the small town of Klawer, at the foot of the Matzikama Mountains on the banks of the wine-producing Olifants River Valley. With emerald-green vineyards, fields of wildflowers and a booming fruit and veg industry, it’s an idyllic locale for winemaker Helienne Swanepoel to craft her bottlings. The wine is full of forest-fruit flavours, plus hints of spicy black pepper and liquorice. It’s just the thing to sip with rich stews or barbecued red meats.
