The Macallan are masters of the art of Speyside whisky. Thanks to their expert use of oak, their reputation as one of the world’s leading single malt producers has been growing strong since their founding in 1824. And this 18-year-old is an exceptional example of their famed signature style. It’s matured for almost two decades in hand-picked Oloroso sherry casks from both sides of the Atlantic, giving it a perfect balance of flavour. American oak brings delicate notes of butterscotch, toffee and vanilla, while European oak adds a subtly spicy touch. Add to that The Macallan’s classic flavours of rich dried fruits, citrus peel and sweet ginger, and you’re in for a decadent, complex, warming whisky that’s delicious neat or served over ice.
